Local Fire Station Pays a Visit

A visit from the local fire station was a source of much excitement for the children at Active Explorers Blockhouse Bay.

Not only did they get up close and personal with the big fire truck, but they also took turns operating the firehose and spraying water.

“It was such an exciting and educational event for our children,” says centre manager Anjana Andrews.

“They were fascinated to watch the fire fighter put on his special suit and oxygen mask, and the crew also talked to the children about fire safety and what they need to do in the event of a fire.”
